Easier, Faster GCash Account Verification Now Possible with Your National ID

Verifying your GCash account just got a whole lot easier and faster, thanks to a new partnership between GCash and the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA). Filipinos can now use their National ID—whether it's the physical card, the printed paper version, or the digital copy—to instantly verify their GCash accounts and enjoy seamless access to financial services.

This move is part of the country's ongoing push for financial inclusion, ensuring that more people, especially those who previously struggled with account verification, can safely access digital platforms like GCash. With over 92 million Filipinos already registered for the National ID system and more than 50 million IDs delivered, this integration couldn't have come at a better time.

The National ID, officially known as PhilSys, serves as a trusted, government-recognized proof of identity. It simplifies processes not just for government transactions but also for private companies, making everyday tasks like opening a bank or e-wallet account more convenient. Now, GCash users no longer have to go through tedious steps just to prove who they are—one quick verification with their National ID is all it takes.

GCash remains the country’s largest mobile wallet, with 8 out of 10 Filipinos having used the platform. Its wide reach plays a big role in helping more people join the digital economy, and this latest feature is another step towards making financial services accessible, secure, and inclusive for everyone.

The PSA emphasized how important this collaboration is in building trust and ensuring that financial transactions are both safe and hassle-free. By making identity verification automated through eVerify, the process becomes quicker, fraud prevention is strengthened, and Filipinos across the country can experience more convenient digital services.

GCash's leadership also highlighted how this partnership with PSA breaks down barriers that have long prevented many Filipinos from fully participating in the digital world. With the National ID as a valid means for account verification, more people—whether in big cities or remote areas—can now confidently use GCash for payments, savings, and other essential financial transactions.

This initiative marks a big step forward not just for GCash users, but for the entire country's vision of a more connected, financially empowered society.
