PLDT Enterprise Enhances Mobile Security with Silent Authentication

The PLDT's corporate arm, PLDT Enterprise, is aiming to strengthen mobile security using Silent Authentication. This new technology's goal is to remove One-Time Passwords (OTPs) and passwords in the authentication processes providing clients with a secured and smoother online experience. Silent Authentication leverages the extensive telco network of PLDT Enterprise and Smart Communications Inc. (Smart) to transform how e-commerce, banking, and other digital platforms manage verifications done by users. This move lines up with the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) initiative in moving away from using OTPs that is vulnerable to frauds, scams, phishing, social engineering and middle-man attacks.
